The first BTicino hackathon: a dialogue between AI chatbots

Hosted in partnership with Logol, the event is aimed at students and young IT talent. Top team wins trip to the World Summit AI in Amsterdam



Milan, February 14, 2020 – Develop a chatbot capable of interrogating BTicino’s virtual assistant to obtain as much information as possible about the new Living Now connected product line. This is the challenge that BTicino, leader of the Legrand Group in Italy and specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, launches to young IT talent in collaboration with Logol, the Swiss pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence.



Designed to promote and support the development of AI-based applications, the first BTicino hackathon will be held on Wednesday March 4that the Talent Garden campus in Milan, with the collaborationof Wired and Talent Garden.



The participants, divided into teams, will have a full day to create an artificial intelligence capable of communicating with the BTicino virtual assistant. Developed by Logol, the virtual assistant provides customers with all the information on the new connected Living Now product range.



The key to success of this challenge lies in the ability of the chatbots developed by the participants to analyze the answers and formulate meaningful questions that extract further information from their counterpart. The prize for the winning team, decreed by a jury composed of professionals from the sector, will be participation in the World Summit AI to be held in Amsterdam on October 7thand 8th, 2020.
